Key Stage 3
In KS3 boys rotate around a number of short courses for varying periods of time learning a variety of skills and learning about processes and the properties of compliant and resistant materials.
Year 7 will do or make:
Steady hand game
Hand held maze
Pewter casting, Basic Graphics
learning cooking and food preparation skills and designing a pizza.
Year 8 will do or make:
Dip coated coat hooks
Vacuum formed desk tidies,
ICT based history of design project,
Card automata
Staple foods & Healthy eating
Year 9 will choose to do two of these:-
ICT based Graphics
Quality wooden boxes
Making model buildings
Walkman/ iPod design
Function of ingredients designing a cake or biscuits

5 experienced members of staff teaching in one dedicated Food room;
2 multimedia workshops;
a graphics room and a construction room.
A wide variety of hand tools and equipment and an increasing provision for CAD/CAM including a laser cutter.
